The Satsports GPS Satski
This is pretty darn cool if you ask me.
If you are a skiers or a snowboarder, the Satsports GPS’ Satski application could be the ski map of the future. Users of the Satski system get access to an unlimited number of ski maps from all over the globe. These maps can be easily downloaded and stored. When you are on the slopes, you can navigate from either a live or a fixed position to any other location on the map, even the local restaurants, ski schools or lodges. There is a scroll & zoom function that gives skiers the ability to survey the entire map which helps when you are plotting courses.
Another function of the Satski
Satski tracks and records real-time data such as speed (live, top and average speed), live altitude and variances in altitude during the session, as well as distance and movement around the ski area.
Most important of all, the Satski Emergency Feature gives crucial information for those in need of help from rescue services. The Satski provides you with the phone numbers of mountain rescue and your exact coordinates so emergency services can locate and assist you in times of need.
When you have finished their day, you can sync the Satsports GPS device to your computer and the Stats Viewer program catalogs that day’s data. The Stats Viewer also gives you the ability to replay your day of skiing on Google Earth or Satsports Ski Viewer. All of the information can be shared with your friends via email, so you can share and compare your data with other skiers.
